Melody Poggio Tutoring
Melody is the owner and primary tutor for Melody Poggio Tutoring. She earned her degree in communication disorders (speech therapy) from Truman State University in 2003. Since then, she has worked with students of all ability levels in school systems in several states, tutored privately, and worked as a substitute teacher in the Duluth, MN, area. She works with students in all core subjects and enjoys finding ways to make students enjoy learning.
In her free time, she spends time with her two children and husband, two German Shepherds, a very cute (but not very smart) pug, a geriatric labrador retriever, two cats, and a multitude of chickens. Exploring state and national parks, fishing, and biking keep her busy in her free time.
Jonathan is a graduate student at Northeastern University specializing in renewable energy integration. He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth where I was a teaching assistant for physics, math and chemistry. I hold a level 3 CRLA Tutor Training Certificate. My hobbies include mountain biking and cross country skiing. When it comes to teaching, my philosophy is that if a student needs and explanation in 10 different ways, I should be prepared to explain that topic in 10 different ways.
