Melody is the owner and primary tutor for Melody Poggio Tutoring. She earned her degree in communication disorders (speech therapy) from Truman State University in 2003. Since then, she has worked with students of all ability levels in school systems in several states, tutored privately, and worked as a substitute teacher in the Duluth, MN, area. She works with students in all core subjects and enjoys finding ways to make students enjoy learning.

In her free time, she spends time with her two children and husband, two German Shepherds, a very cute (but not very smart) pug, cat, and a multitude of chickens. She enjoys being outside, is learning to fly fish, and takes pride in trying new things whenever possible.

Jonathan is a graduate student at Northeastern University specializing in renewable energy integration. He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth where I was a teaching assistant for physics, math and chemistry. I hold a level 3 CRLA Tutor Training Certificate. My hobbies include mountain biking and cross country skiing. When it comes to teaching, my philosophy is that if a student needs and explanation in 10 different ways, I should be prepared to explain that topic in 10 different ways.

Sarah Johnson is a certified substitute teacher specializing in literacy and writing. As a published author of several young adult novels, her work has been chosen as an ALAN pick by the National Council of Teachers of English, received starred reviews from Publishers' Weekly as well as praise from the likes of School Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews, and VOYA, and appeared on numerous lists by librarians and educators. Through her personal experience with students living with ADHD, autism, and giftedness, she is able to connect with students through stories and writing while providing encouragement and support as they develop their own skills.
